Visual Style

We've decided to use a low-poly animation style instead of a traditional 'Pixar' look. This creative choice lets us iterate much faster while giving Betty Fleetfoot a unique visual style that brings its world to life on the big screen.

Project History
Betty Fleetfoot, originally was a tall tale called The Grand Race is a feature-length story in development at WW Studios.
In 2020 Joshua Whitney attempted to turn it into a short film but the project got scrapped due to technical limitations. Between 2021 and 2022 he picked the project back up and developed it into his first feature length screenplay.
It’s been a long time dream at Joshua’s to produce a full length (90+ minute long) movie so instead of waiting for a studio to pick the project up he decided to attempt to produce it solo while documenting it on his YouTube channel.
A full hour and forty-six minute long PREVIS was created along with many environments needed for production but after a year and a half of preproduction it was clear the story needed further refinement.
Yet, by 2025 Joshua had to pull back from reworking the film completely and pursed freelance animation work. That decision was hard to make. At the time he felt like he was essentially giving up on his dream of making a movie for good. But God always has a bigger plan.
After feeling led to slowly pick things back up again in late 2025 and finishing further revisions of the rewritten screenplay in February of 2026, we are excited to see looking to move towards official production as soon as this summer!
